Students learn important math concepts while engaged in a stock market simulation. Playing the Market is the first book that provides lessons, specific activities, and project ideas to bring the real-world of the stock market into the classroom. In working through the simulations students form investment groups, choose stocks to "purchase" and pay brokers commission, and track the changing value of their investment over time. In addition to the mathematics involved students gain experience in real-life skills such as filling out investment forms, check writing, and keeping a check register.
